Korean rock band SE SO Neon hit Brooklyn Steel on their “NOW North American Tour” on Tuesday September 9.
The tour is promoting the band’s debut release, <NOW>, which dropped on August 15, 2025. SE SO Neon is fronted by Soyoon — who won “Rookie of the Year” and “Best Rock Song of the Year at the Korean Music Awards in 2016 (the year the band officially debuted). Their EP Nonadaptation scored huge American accolades from Pitchfork and Paste Magazine — who placed the EP on their best rock albums of the year 2020.
In a press release, the music of SE SO NEON is described perfectly, “With the new music, the group has crafted their own sonic identity, displaying a wide spectrum of musical influences varying from blues and psychedelic rock to new wave and synth pop. Sung primarily in Korean, their music is rooted both in the present and in nature, making the album relatable regardless of any language barrier. “People will feel my energy and my soul,” frontwomen Soyoon Hwang proclaims.”
Opening the show was Mei Ehara — a Japanese singer-songwriter, artist, designer, and filmmaker.
