AEW Dynamite 10/22/25 kicks off with a rundown of tonight’s lineup and it looks great. Following an action-packed PPV, it seems AEW seeks to maintain momentum on the action.

As the road to Full Gear kicks off, the cross-promotion between AEW and DC is in full force. The current mega-Crisis event, DC KO has begun, a tournament of heroes to determine who can wield the sole power to defeat Darkseid.

Our opening contest featured The Opps retaining the AEW Trios Championship against The Hurt Syndicate. A rare loss indeed, however it was due to interference by Ricochet, allowing Samoa Joe to sneak and lock in the sleeper hold on MVP, who was unable to escape and forced to tap out.

I felt the match could have lasted a bit longer, because it was really good. Lots of potential for some singles and tag matches between the two factions in the future. However, it seems The Demand is not done with The Hurt Syndicate. Like many, I thought their feud had wrapped up at WrestleDream, but nope.

I’ve said this before, but at times it seems feuds in AEW are drawn out a tag too long.

Darby Allin is out in the ring, AEW flag in hand. He addresses being called irresponsible for climbing Mt. Everest. His claim is that he will do what he does best and challenge death. Even it is bad for PR if he does die. However, he says he will die for this company. He also is aware the Death Riders aren’t going anywhere, and neither is he.

Jurassic Express promo: Jack Perry is glad to be back with Luchasaurus by his side. The AEW Tag Team Championships will be theirs soon enough.

Women’s Fatal Four Tag Team Match: Megan Bayne/Penelope Ford vs. Willow Nightingale/Harley Cameron vs. Queen Aminata/Jamie Hayter vs. Skye Blue/Julia Hart

Absolutely fantastic tag team match. Willow Nightingale is MVP of the match. Every time she entered the ring the crowd popped HUGE for her. All eight women looked extremely impressive. To be perfectly blunt, all the women in this match are established mainstays of the Women’s Division, all of whom could be potential champions in the future.

The finish was absolutely wild. Aminata cracks Ford with a headbutt, followed up by Hayter’s massive lariat for the pinfall.

Backstage: The Young Bucks demand a “money match” from Tony Khan. He agrees to sign one for Collision this Friday, where JetSpeed and Jurassic Express will be challengers against the Bucks and their partners… FTR. This is going to be great.

Mercedes Mone’s Celebration

Yet another celebration for another championship claimed. However, Mini Mone the Puppet pops up first to mock the CEO who comes to the ring, extremely unhappy. She rants a bit repetiitvly about being disrespected and being the best of all time… Until she grabs the puppet, and pulls Harley Cameron from the table, until someone comes out with her… KRIS STATLANDER who spikes Mone through a cake filled table!

Kyle O’Reilly defeated Jon Moxley by DQ

Yep, you read correctly. KOR gets the W over Mox. Great singles wrestling featuring a ton of submission and mat-based style wrestling. Mox did a great job selling both physical and mental toll taken from his war with Darby. O’Reilly, many times throughout the match clearly had the upper hand but yet Mox refused to tap or give in.

Late into the match, O’Reilly countered everything Mox threw at him, finally cinching in an ankle lock. Mox couldn’t take anymore, but rather than tapping out again, he PUNCHED OUT THE REF! A second ref ran in with officials, disqualifying Mox, and a brawl broke out between the Death Riders and the Conglomeration. This leads into our next trios match where…

The Conglomeration (Briscoe, Cassidy, Strong) defeated The Death Riders (Claudio/Yuta/Garcia)

AEW is killing it with these trios matches. Nothing felt rushed or drawn out. Lots of high impact and the near-falls kept the fans on their feet throughout, even chanting “this is awesome” at one point. Roderick Strong continues to show his level of unchartable wrestling skills. People can say AEW relies a bit on quantity, but tonight, as this match in particular proves, also prides itself on the quality of matches. Claudio nearly lobbed Cassidy into the announce table, but was stopped. Briscoe traps Yuta and spikes him with the Jay Driller for the victory.

After the match, Kyle Fletcher and Don Callis goat about their fortunes. However, Mark Briscoe returns, after Kyle brags and claims to be able to beat Briscoe anytime. Briscoe says he’s been icing his nuts all week, and demands one more title shot. Callis, cowardly says no.

As the Women’s Tag Team Tournament brackets are revealed, Athena offers Mone a partnership and Mini Shirakawa calls herself and Storm the Timeless Lovebombs.

Kazuchika Okada retains the Unified Championship against Bandido

Big time main event plus a fired up live crowd capped off a great episode of Dynamite. Big win for everyone. Going way past the 10pm eastern hour, they put on a fantastic closer in which, on multiple occasions left fans in awe. It felt as though Bandido could have won the championship. While Okada managed to outsmart his challenger and retain, it was clear Bandido may have been his most threatening opponent yet.

As the Don Callis Family came to the ring to celebrate, one member appeared nonplussed and would cause some rift in the ranks. This member being Konosuke Takeshita, the IWGP World Champion.  Will the build get a slow, worthy hype? Or will they rush it to Full Gear to kick off the feud of the year?

AEW Dynamite 10/22/25 is now streaming on HBO MAX.
