Something big has arrived in the music industry. The legend Daddy Yankee and well-known producer Bizarrap have joined forces to create “BZRP Music Session #0/66” a track that brings back the essence of the old school reggaeton while delivering a meaningful message from the pioneer of the genre.
Released on November 5, “BZRP Music Session #0/66” is the first collaboration of these two artists, who are both making a comeback. Bizarrap returned after almost a year without releasing a new music session, while Daddy Yankee returned after announcing his retirement back in 2023. This collaboration could be a new beginning of an era marked by its title #0/66, a number never used before in Bizarrap sections in which were mostly used simple numbers, this could be interpreted as the first section of 66.
This song mixed nostalgia with dembow, reggaeton, mambo, and electric sounds. It captures the feeling of the early 2000’s the classic style of the “Big Boss” himself, but now adding a modern touch that keeps it fresh. The beat is emotional, energetic and connects to the past and present, a great way to honor the legacy of Daddy Yankee.
This song is not like any other of Yankee’s songs. This track focuses on faith and legacy rather than fame and power. Lines like “Cuando me vaya de aquí, nada me llevo” (When I leave here, I’m taking nothing with me.)” is a direct quote from the Bible verse Ecclesiastes 5:15 and is showing the faith and spiritual side of Daddy Yankee. Daddy Yankee has taken the classic reggaeton and created something powerful that expresses pride, purpose and reflection.
Daddy Yankee proves that his evolution doesn’t affect his sense, and now he’s showing how the genre can carry emotion and meaning beyond party themes. The song has great balance between rhythmics and reflection, the song makes people want to dance, but it also makes them think.
“BZRP Music Session #0/66” confirms that Daddy Yankee is still the Big Boss of the reggaeton. His return shows growth, with the same confidence in his voice that captures his fans since the beginning of his era. Together Daddy Yankee and Bizarrap have created something unique, a track that celebrates Latin Music while pushing it to the future.
