Pop Break Live: The Happy Fits “Lovesick Tour 2025” with Pom Pom Squad and Double Standard at The Fillmore in Philadelphia, PA on Thursday December 11, 2025
Indie pop band The Happy Fits played to an extremely enthusiastic crowd at The Fillmore in Philadelphia on Thursday December 11th. The band is really popular in the tri-state area as they have roots in New Jersey and Philadelphia. The band took off after their song “While You Fade” went viral on Spotify in 2016. They are touring in support of their critically acclaimed album LoveSick which was released in September. It’s their first album to feature their newest band members Niko Rose and Raina Mullen.
There was thunderous applause when The Happy Fits simply walked out onto the stage to perform. I knew right then that this night was going to be special. It was loud! There is no doubt that the two New York bands, Double Standard and Pom Pom Girls got the crowd riled up with their fun energetic sets.
The Happy Fits kicked off the night with a one-two power punch of “Cruel Power” and the feel good song “Everything You Do.” Talk about hyping the crowd up right off the bat. The crowd was fist pumping on the first song! The lighting during the set was beautiful at times and moody when a song called for it.
A few things that stood out during the night was their musicianship, their gorgeous four-part harmonies (which was stunning at times) and their gift of crafting catchy melodic gems that just get stuck in your head. Some of the songs that stood out during the set were “Lovesick,” “I Could Stare at you for Hours,” “The Nerve,” “Mary,” “Heart of a Dancer,” “Shake Me” and a fun little ditty called “Dirty Imbecile.”
It was mesmerizing to watch Calvin Langman perform. It’s not often you see a cellist shred like that. The showmanship between the band members was fun to watch. There were no lulls during the set at all.
This was such an amazing show. The band’s infectious energy kept the crowd on their feet dancing, bouncing, fist pumping and singing their hearts out during the entire set. I also saw great camaraderie amongst the fans.
The place was still buzzing when the show was over. There were lots of happy smiling faces leaving The Fillmore. Overall the vibe in the venue felt really joyous. It kind of felt like Christmas came early for these fans and myself! The performance was truly a night to remember.
