Preview: Space Ghost Season 2 Issue 8

I have to give Andrew Dalhouse a ton of credit. Churning out colors for multiple titles, including DC x AEW,  has got to be fun but grueling at times. His work on Space Ghost has been nothing short of fantastic, and when you have an artist to compliment like Jonathan Lau, his work explodes off the pages.

Issue 8 of the second season, is the second part of the story arc featuring the Antimatter Man. While readers know his identity, our heroes do not. More death and destruction litter the pages, as the dark side of the good doctor surges into a rage, seeking to eradicate life as we know it. During the big Battle, Space Ghost is injured, however the scientists who survived the initial attack come up with a way for our hero to get close without meeting an untimely demise.

Think Iron Man meets Frank Miller’s Dark Knight Returns.

This seems to be a common theme throughout each battle in every issue. Space Ghost becomes more violent, more despondent, and seems a little too eager to throw himself into danger without regard for his own safety.

He covers it up by claiming doing this for the children who follow him and to save world after World throughout the galaxy. Keen readers know that there must be something more than meets the eye. Is this a man who truly has nothing? willing to sacrifice all?

This is a question to be left explored as the battle continues, the cracks in the Antimatter Man begin to form and all is revealed.  Life comes with a fatal price. One in which Space Ghost, Jace, and Jan may never recover from.
