Wrestlemania 42 Night 2 Review: A Proper Wrestlemania, But Still Too Short

After a first night that did not meet expectations WrestleMania 42 Night 2 was much better. It had more exciting matches, more action, and even some surprises, making it more enjoyable than Night 1. Even though this night was much better, it was not the best WrestleMania night ever. It still had some problems, like matches that felt too short.

Oba Femi vs. Brock Lesnar

The night started big, with a fight between Oba Femi and Brock Lesnar. This match featured two very strong wrestlers, so it was expected to be a hard and intense fight. At the beginning, both fighters showed strength. Lesnar tried to control the match, while Femi also showed that he is very strong. But as the match continued, Lesnar started to look tired. The match ended very quickly, in less than five minutes, which was surprising. Oba Femi won the match over Brock Lesnar. This match could have been better if it had lasted longer. Both wrestlers have a lot of skill and needed more time to show their full potential in the ring.

The biggest moment came after the match. Brock Lesnar did not immediately get up. He took off his gloves and boots, looking emotional. This led people to think he might be retiring from the WWE, a shocking moment that concluded the match.

Intercontinental Championship Ladder Match: Penta (c) vs. Je’Von Evans vs. Dragon Lee vs. JD McDonagh vs. Rusev vs. Rey Mysterio

This was a very entertaining match and had a lot of action from the start. As usual, in a ladder match, there were many dangerous moments, wrestlers were jumping and climbing the ladders to try to win the Championship, and every wrestler got a moment to shine. There were many close moments when it looked like someone was about to win. In the end, Penta was able to climb the ladder and keep his Intercontinental Championship. A strong performance showed why he is the champion.

United States Championship: Sami Zayn (c) vs. Trick Williams

A predictable match, but it was good. It was expected that Trick Williams would win, and that is what happened at the end. Sami Zayn started strong, but Trick Williams showed his skills in the ring. In the end, Trick Williams did his finishing move and became the new United States Champion. Even though this match was good, it should have been longer. Both wrestlers could have done more if they had had extra time in the ring.

Street Fight: Finn Balor vs. Dominik Mysterio

This match was surprising. I thought Dominik Mysterio would win, but that did not happen. From the beginning, Finn Balor, as the Demon, looked very powerful and scary. Dominik still tried his best, with strong movements, but Balor was just too strong in this match. At the end, this was a solid match, with good action, two strong rivals, and Finn Balor as the winner.

WWE Women’s Championship: Jade Cargill (c) vs. Rhea Ripley

This was the only women’s match of the night, and it turned out to be one of the better matches. Both Jade Cargill and Rhea Ripley are very strong, which made the match very physical. They both tried to dominate each other. During the match, there were some interruptions from Michin and B-Fab. Later, Iyo Sky came out to protect Rhea Ripley. Even with the outside interference, the match stayed exciting. In the final moments, Rhea Ripley was able to win the WWE Women’s Championship.

World Heavyweight Championship: CM Punk (c) vs. Roman Reigns

Before this match, I thought it was going to be disappointing, but it turned out to be one of the best of the night. This match has a lot of drama and storytelling. CM Punk showed that he still has a lot of skill. Roman Reigns also showed why he is one of the best in the industry.

During the match, Punk had many moments where he was in control. He even used some of Roman Reigns’ own moves, which made the match more interesting. At some point, it really looked like Punk was going to retain the Championship. But Roman Reigns did not give up, even when he was tired and hurt, he kept fighting. In the end, Roman Reigns won the World Heavyweight Championship, going again at “The Head of the Table.”

Wrestlemania 42 Night 2 is now streaming on the ESPN app.
