For many at the Jersey Shore, it’s the most wonderful time of the year: a festival combining craft beer, artisanal hot sauce and handcrafted live music, nestled in the heart of the southern Ocean County shore and all supporting a worthy cause. Frankly, it doesn’t get much better than the HopSauce Festival.

The annual gathering to welcome in the summer season on Long Beach Island and support the Jetty Rock Foundation’s efforts protecting the oceans and waterways returns for its 11th year this weekend, running from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, June 13 at the Taylor Avenue Waterfront in Beach Haven.

As the festival prepares to take over the waterfront, it remains deeply rooted in the vision established back in 2014 by local apparel brand Jetty and the shop Spice It Up. Jeremy DeFilippis, CEO and Co-founder of Jetty, reflects that while the event has grown, its soul remains unchanged. “The hot sauce is really what makes this one different,” DeFilippis noted, emphasizing that the pairing of heat, hops and original tunes is the secret ingredient that has sustained them for more than a decade.

Music fans can expect a curated experience on the Columbia Bank Stage. There are sonically expansive good vibes courtesy of the headliner, New York City-based quintet Juice, the Brooklyn-based grooves of Supertaste, Jersey Shore fresh pop punk by Turn Two, the jammed out south Jersey neo classic rock of Lost Sailors and more.

Unlike many shore events that rely on cover bands, HopSauce is a haven for original artists. This commitment to handcrafted music ensures an eclectic soundtrack that mirrors the creative community of the barrier island.

Of course, the “sauce” in HopSauce is a major draw, with 25 to 30 hot sauce vendors expected this year. While favorites like the Jersey-based Hank Sauce have been staples since the beginning, the 11th annual festival is introducing some fresh fire. This year features Casey Webb’s Louisiana-style Inferno Hot Sauce; Webb, something of a food celebrity known for his appearance on Man v. Food, brings a new demographic to the event. Attendees can sample these fiery creations alongside over 50 craft beers, ciders and canned mixed drinks.

The festival has also evolved into a premier family destination. Children 12 and under receive free entry, and this year’s youth section is bigger than ever. Moving beyond simple face painting and jewelry making, the 2026 fest introduces traditional carnival trailers featuring classic games. “I think the younger kids, will be pumped on stuff like that,” DeFilippis says, mentioning prizes like stuffed animals for those who can knock down pins or land a dart.

Perhaps the most significant aspect of the day is its role as the largest fundraiser of the year for the Jetty Rock Foundation. Proceeds directly support coastal and environmental initiatives, including oyster restoration and clean water projects. This year, the foundation is highlighting a specific success story: the Oyster Shooter. Built using a $50,000 grant from Tito’s Vodka, this specialized boat will be on-site to help educate the public about the foundation’s oyster recycling and restoration efforts. DeFilippis notes that they are looking to better connect the fun festival vibe to these critical environmental missions through enhanced educational signage.

As for how to handle the day, DeFilippis offers a simple tip: “Get a gang of your friends and make the full day out of it.” He recommends arriving early for parking and having a plan to ensure you have enough time to taste the sauces, sample the brews and catch every band on the lineup. Whether you’re a heat-seeker, a beer enthusiast, or just looking for a family day by the water, HopSauce remains the ultimate kickoff to the LBI summer.
