Christmas comes early for fans of The Cranberries. The band’s highly-anticipated live album Live At The London Astoria II, 1994 dropped for the very first time on Friday September 4.
The album, released via Island/UMe, is available on a two-LP Limited Edition Molten Lava Vinyl, standard black vinyl, CD, and digitally for streaming and download.
The album was recorded between the Irish band’s debut record Everybody Else Is Doing It, So Why Can’t We? (1993) – which featured their seminal hits “Linger” and “Dreams”—and their gigantic, commercial smash 1994 hit No Need to Argue (1994). The show took place at the London Astoria II, which was demolished in the late, 2000’s.
“It was such a buzz playing in The Astoria,” remembers drummer Fergal Lawler in a press release. “We had returned from the U.S. and taken a bit of time off for Christmas. This was our first concert back in London after achieving such success in America. We were delighted to see a few of our hardcore fans at the front of the stage, I think we felt proud that all our hard work had finally come to fruition.”
The album features cuts off No Need to Argue, and includes a rare performance of “Zombie” with the late Dolores O’Riordan on vocals.
The album has already received glowing critical praise.
