“When Becca and Tyler are sent to their grandparents’ secluded Pennsylvania farmhouse for a weeklong stay, they quickly discover something is not right with the elderly couple. Faced with strange rules and increasingly frightening behavior, the children soon realize it will take all their wits to make it home alive. Critics rave that the latest heart-pounding thriller from the director of The Sixth Sense and Signs and the producer of Paranormal Activity and The Purge is a “deliciously creepy triumph” (Scott Mendelson, Forbes.com).”
Pop-Break’s Tommy Tracy reviewed The Visit (you can read the review here) and absolutely loved it. He saw the film as the return of M. Night Shyamalan after a few not so amazing film releases. In this instance, I would have to agree with him. The Visit genuinely gave me the creeps on multiple occasions and the ending, a place where Shyamalan tends to struggle, was actually a decent ending. His signature twist was slightly predictable but open to a variation of endings. All in all, The Visit is very much worth the watch.
In terms of special features, The Visit delivers. We get an alternate ending, deleted scenes, a making of featurette and Becca’s photo roll.
