25 years ago, after the death of Mother Love Bone’s frontman Andrew Wood, Temple of the Dog was created. This supergroup was comprised of Pearl Jam’s Jeff Ament, Stone Gossard, and Mike McCready and Soundgarden’s Chris Cornell along with Matt Cameron who was drummer for both bands. In November, Temple of the Dog will celebrate the 25th anniversary of their first and only album, the self titled Temple of the Dog, by going on tour for the first time ever.
The band will play in Philadelphia, Los Angeles, New York, San Francisco, and of course Seattle. Fans who are signed up for the Ten Club, Soundgarden, and Chris Cornell email lists can start buying tickets immediately through July 27th as part of a special ticket pre sale. Tickets go on sale for the general public on Friday July 29th at 12 pm.
Before the tour kicks off, however, UMe will release special Temple of the Dog 25th anniversary reissue on September 30th. The original album released by A&M Records on April 16th, 1991 will be remixed by Brendan O’Brien in the reissue which will be available for purchase in four different configurations. To learn more about pre ordering and the contents of each configuration you can go to the Temple of the Dog shop.
$1.50 of every ticket sale will go to Chris and Vicky Cornell Foundation as well as Pearl Jam’s Vitalogy Foundation. Click here for tour dates and ticket sale information.
