The all female reboot of Ocean’s Eleven, Ocean’s Eight, has some new blood.
Ocean’s Eight, which is set to star Sandra Bullock, Cate Blanchett, Helena Bonham Carter, and Mindy Kaling in the leading roles, has some more fierce females to add to the list.
Variety confirms that Rihanna and Anne Hathaway are in negotiations to join the much hyped “girl power” about film.
The film is set to be directed by Ross and follow a similar tone to the original story.
Ross has been quoted as saying that the film will follow, “…a pretty similar tone. You know, Steven Soderbergh and I are incredibly close friends, and we would not have done this if we weren’t. I don’t think he would’ve wanted anyone to do it if we weren’t. This is very much an extension and a continuation.”
Ross and original director Steven Soderbergh will produce the flick, which is set to start production in October, and Olivia Milch is set to pen the script.
