It’s looking like Tony Stark isn’t the only mustachioed and goateed hero to be joining the highly anticipated Avenger: Infinity War roster. Benedict Cumberbatch has hinted at Dr. Strange’s appearance in the 2018 team up, shortly after his premiere solo film. In an interview with Empire the actor didn’t specifically name Avengers: Infinity War. However, he did mention the “logistical challenge” of lining up his schedule with cast members who are key Avengers such as Robert Downey Jr., Chris Hemsworth, Elizabeth Olsen, and Paul Bettany, who play Iron Man, Thor, Scarlet Witch, and Vision, respectively.
“To get us all together will be quite something. That’s why this character is being introduced, to open up the next chapter,” Cumberbatch added. “So watch this space to see how that unfolds.”
The Sorcerer Supreme isn’t the only newcomer on the Avengers’ radar. The Guardians of Galaxy are confirmed to join the fight, and Captain Marvel who hasn’t even made any kind of silver screen appearance yet. But if you can’t wait until 2018 to see the good doctor again, don’t worry. Recent set photos from Thor: Ragnorak suggest some kind of connection between the third upcoming Thor film and Dr. Strange.
