2017 is truly getting of to a musical start.
Ed Sheeran, after taking a break from music since December 2015 for travel, has finally released his much awaited singles in preparation for his new studio album entitled,”÷ (Divide)”.
The two songs released are called, Shape Of You, a song about lusty love, initially written for Rihanna in mind, and Castle On The Hill, a return to Sheeran’s more mushy and emotional side of songwriting as it is a supposed love song to Suffolk England, but will surely be a love song for young lovers all around.
When speaking about his decision to release the songs, Sheeran is quoted as saying on twitter, “Cause I’ve been away for a bit.” (Source, BBC.)
Sheeran is reported as saying that he initially wanted to release new music a few months ago, but decided to hold off. He told Scott Mills recently, “The funny thing is while I have music waiting to be released I usually end up playing it to random people. Normally when I’ve been out drinking I’ll be like, ‘Hey mate do you want to hear my new song?’ that happens a lot.”
Both songs are sure to be hits, with their catchy beats and memorable lyrics, so welcome back Mr. Sheeran, it’s looking like its going to be a good year for you!
