Dark City Entertainment presents the third annual Convention Hell on Saturday October 28.
The annual Halloween tribute show is presenting a new batch of tributes, and we’re pretty excited about what they have in store for this year (including a slew of bands making their Convention Hell debut).
The one that is absolutely making us jump up and down in excitement is the fantastic Remember Jones (making their debut at Convention Hell) doing a “JugggalOtis Redding” set. And we’ve confirmed, this IS a mash-up set of Otis Redding and The Insane Clown Posse. Woop woop, indeed!
The Matt Wade Band returns to Convention Hell performing an ambitious cover set — that of George Clinton’s Parliament Funkadelic. Last year he performed the songs of Elton John.
There will be an all-star tribute to Soundgarden (we’re crossing our fingers for a cover of “Superunknown”) featuring members of The Black Clouds, Lower the Veil, Shut Up!, and J.D DeServio of Black Label Society’s Cycle of Pain.
Convention Hell staples Des and the Swagmatics return to perform as Chaka Khan. The band has previously performed as Michael Jackson, and Stevie Wonder.
The Shady Street Show Band returns to perform the high energy hits of The B52’s. The band has previously performed
Asbury Park staple Rick Barry (with a full band) performs the songs of The Counting Crows.
AP faves, and Convention Hell vets Dentist will perform as The Ramones. This should be awesome. In 2015 they performed as Green Day.
Spinning in between sets as Princes of Tides — a DJ duo featuring Parlor Mob’s Sam Bey, and Colin Carhart. The after party dubbed “late hell” will be DJ’ed by Tyler Valentine.
The event is sponsored by The Asbury Park Boardwalk, and Asbury Park Brewery.
Tickets are $22 in advance, $25 at the door. Speaking of doors, they open at 7 p.m. Attendees must be 21+.
