Tonight starts off huge with Roman Reigns defeating Bray Wyatt in a match which gave me a slight reminder of the brief Shield vs. Wyatt Family feud, you know, before Reigns got shoved down our throats. The was expected, the surprise would have been Wyatt winning. We did get a surprise from Woken Matt who attacks Bray afterwards.
Despite a clean loss at RAW 25, the Hardy/Wyatt feud continues.
Finn Balor is set to take on Dash Wilder, however after a brief fight, this turns into a tag team match. Balor and Anderson wind up getting the win over The Revival. Trading wins, this seems like a good feud to keep an eye on, I feel having something at stake would give this a bit more importance.
Drake Maverick/Rockstar Spud is out to push 205Live. He is first introduced as Rockstar Spud. Interesting how WWE continues to push the name change. Wonder if this will happen to other TNA stars, such as EC3? [Editor’s Note: EC3 owns the rights to his name, and so far is referred to as EC3]. In any case we get an unbelievable match which sees Mustafa Ali and Cedric Alexander get a win over Tony Nese and Drew Gulak. Man, where has this 205 Live been all long and why hasn’t Cedric been handed the Cruiserweight Championship?
Kurt Angle announces the Women’s Championship Elimination Chamber match. Alexa Bliss will defend against Bayley, Mickie James, Mandy Rose, Sonya Deville, and Sasha Banks. He also announces Nia Jax will face Asuka at the next PPV. If Jax wins, she gets added to the main event at WrestleMania. Bliss comes out to complain how she has to defend in her Chamber match, while Brock doesn’t have to defend until WrestleMania… Hmmm… good point!
Asuka defeats Bayley. Decent match, but this outcome was expected.
In another expected outcome, The Miz defeated Apolo Crews to gain entry into the Elimination Chamber.
If once wasn’t enough… Kurt Angle informs Seth Rollins he is without Jason Jordan due to injury. Rollins already has backup, as Roman Reigns shows up to reform 2/3rds Shield.
The Bar defeat 2/3rds Shield. This was a good match, it really was. Jason Jordan arrives, appearing to support Reigns and Rollins, until he interferes, and gets the challengers DQ’ed. Jordan must be loving this gimmick. He’s skillfully evil here.
Nia Jax defeats Jobber
Mickie James defeats Sonya Deville, and James hurt Deville, possible for real. Anyone noticing the Women’s matches tend to pace or out-pace the males?
Tonight, Elias, John Cena, and Braun Strowman battle in a triple threat to earn the chance to be the last entry in the Elimination Chamber. Elias is so good. One minute the crowd applauds, the next he is booed relentlessly.
