Review: Optimus Prime Annual 2018

This one isn’t about Optimus Prime. It’s about Starscream, Thundercracker, and a bit of a side story of how Starscream made a few friends and made more enemies.

Optimus Prime Annual

Throughout the issue, our screenwriting Decepticon, Thundercracker is recruited by Starscream to sell how Starscream is really some sort of benevolent ruler who had everyone’s best interest at heart. It’s a fun tale, retracing how others perceived Starscream and even some backstory into the origin of The Seekers.

Many side characters appear in humorous fashion. It’s a nice side trip out of the dark, brooding nature the main Optimus Prime title.

I enjoy annuals. They tend to relate to the main arc in their own way, and manage to tell an enjoyable stand-alone tale.

The 2018 Optimus Prime Annual gets a 9 out of 10.

Optimus Prime Annual 2018 is available at comic book retailers nationwide.
