Pop Break Live: Gang of Youths at 7th Street Entry in Minnesota
Words & Pohots by Patsy Thayieng
A long way from home, Gang of Youths played an epid sold out show at the 7th Street Entry in Minneapolis on their last stop of this leg of their tour. The Australian natives brought high energy and good vibrations all night.
The intimate venue slowly but surely filled up as concert goers trickled in and packed the house. The crowd even started singing along to guitarist, Joji Malani, playing a riff when he came out before the set to set up and tune his guitar. The pure positivity of this band comes through in their live performances. This band has been through it all together and it shows in their on-stage chemistry and the passion that leadman, David Le’aupepe sings with.
The hype around this band is real.
Between a killer U.S. television debut on Late Night With Seth Meyers, playing sets at SXSW, and a nearly entire sold out tour, it’s clear that Gang of Youths is Australia’s best kept secret and we can’t wait to see more of their stateside success.
