After months of speculation, critically acclaimed rockers It Lives, It Breathes have closed the door on the past, and re-emerged as Damn Nation. The band reincarnate comes out firing on all cylinders with their debut single “Apocalypse.”
Sometimes when listening to a new song, you immediately know if it’s something that you’ll listen to over and over again. (I did). The hard rock track immediately delivers with it’s catchy hook, “You’re my Apocalypse.” The song has it all: a heavy breakdown, hard-hitting drums, and powerful vocals — not to mention a very melodic guitar solo. This is another track I could see being used as an NXT Takeover or WWE PPV theme. (The band’s song “Elevated” is used by New Japan Pro Wrestling’s Will Ospreay as his entrance music).
The video, directed by Josiah Moore features the band in a sci-fi jungle planet, featuring all the blues, greens, and purples of the band’s logo. I absolutely love the color scheme and the lighting. There’s a lot of devastation, pollution, and destruction going on throughout, and it seems to be directly affecting what I can best describe as a Mother Earth type woman who is directly linked to the happenings. She suffers throughout until she is embraced by the band’s lead singer, Kevin Lacerda. Watch the video for yourself as it’s actually a really rad concept.
This is just the beginning for Damn Nation and if this is any indication, we are in for one heck of a ride.
