Drew McIntyre has been on a revenge-driven rampage against the individual Shield members since he lost to them during Fastlane’s six-man tag team match. Every week since Fastlane, Drew has made it a point to take down the individual members of the Shield.
On March 11th, McIntyre had a ‘Falls Count Anywhere’ match against Dean Ambrose. McIntyre was the victor of that match and showed no mercy. A week later, on March 18th, Drew McIntyre had a match with Seth Rollins who was looking to avenge his fallen brother. To be fair, Seth Rollins could have won that match had Brock Lesnar not walked out from the back and distracted him. While distracted, McIntyre was able to get the pin-fall on Seth.
A week after that match, McIntyre had a ‘Last Man Standing’ match with Dean Ambrose, which Drew McIntyre also won. And just last week, Drew McIntyre ambushed Roman Reigns while he was being interviewed backstage.
There are a few defining reasons why I think Roman Reigns will be the victor of this match. First of all, this will be Roman Reign’s first solo match since revealing that he is in remission from leukemia. I think the audience would really pop to see him win a match on his own. Another reason that I believe Roman will be the victor of this match is that he will be avenging the falls of his brothers, Seth Rollins and Dean Ambrose, from the last few weeks. Drew McIntyre has been absolutely killing it in the ring and on the mic for the last month, but I think it’s time Roman took the spotlight again.
Roman Reigns and Drew McIntyre are both tremendous workers, and both are good on the mic, so at the very least, I expect this match to be entertaining. I think it’s just about time for The Big Dog to knock the Scottish psychopath off his high-horse.
