logan j. fowler and bill bodkin deduce if they want in on the game of shadows …
Theater, Rent, No Thanks, Undecided? Rent (but possibly theater).
I actually liked the first Sherlock Holmes movie, and I guess a lot of other people did too, seeing how it is getting a sequel. While the first flick was a bit long in some areas, the chemistry between Jude Law (Watson) and Robert Downey Jr. (the titular Holmes) gave the movie some great comedy bits, and along with the action, spiced the Holmes saga up a bit, not to mention the way Holmes deducted things was quite nifty. The sequel seems to do more with all of those factors, and with the whole “going up against the biggest criminal mind in Europe,” the stakes have definitely been raised in this very interesting and fun looking sequel. Don’t know if I’ll be able to catch this Game Of Shadows in the theater, but you can bet that I’ll be looking forward to come rental time.

Guy Ritchie’s Sherlock Holmes is exactly what the doctor ordered for a fall/holiday movie season that has been lacking that big-budget popcorn flick. Something that’ll dazzle you visually, give you some nice twists and turns, more than a handful of laughs and plenty of action to rouse your spirits. A Game Of Shadows looks to be pure escapist fun, and I cannot wait to see this film in theaters. The chemistry between Jude Law and Robert Downey Jr. is fantastic, and the addition of the original ‘girl with the dragon tattoo’ Noomi Rapace and the highly underrated yet supremely entertaining Jared Harris (as Dr. Moriarity) will certainly help this film be a new chapter in Holmes saga and not just a ‘let’s rehash the same gags from the first film’-type sequel Hollywood has churned over the past few years.
