“The threat of the Whisperers return leads to paranoia sweeping over Alexandria; in the meantime, Carol battles with the need for revenge.”
We begin The Walking Dead Season 10 Episode 3, ‘Ghosts’ with the first 48 hours after the satellite crashed on Whisperer territory. Waves of walkers approach each side of Alexandria, and everyone thinks these walkers are being sent from Alpha (Emily Mortimer) and The Whisperers. When Gamma (Thora Birch) approaches Alexandria’s entrance, she tells the group that they need to meet Alpha at the border to talk.
The Alexandria survivors are upset, wanting revenge for what Alpha and the Whisperers have done to them all, but Michonne (Danai Gurrira) says now is not the time for vengeance due to the fact that they have so many walkers that they could send to Alexandrias way and wipe them all out. Daryl (Norman Reedus), Carol (Melissa McBride), Michonne, and a few other Citizens head out to the border to meet with Alpha.
While they’re heading out to meet with Alpha, other survivors are heading out to take down the waves of walkers. Father Gabriel (Seth Gilliam) decides to have Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) head out with Aaron (Ross Marquand) and neither are excited of this decision. When a few walkers with hogweed tackle Aaron, he’s temporarily blind, and can’t see where Negan went off too, fearing that he ran away, but Negan protected him and kept watch overnight until they were able to head back.
At the border, Alpha tells the group that they should be punished for crossing the border, so instead of bloodshed, she takes more land from them. Carol doesn’t like that because it takes away hunting ground for them. She fires a shot at her, and Michonne apologizes to Alpha, saying that they all have been up for a long period of time, they’re tired, & she’s still upset over the loss of Henry. They let it go, and as they’re heading back, Carol believes she sees three Whisperers sneaking around them. She fires more shots and they all split up, trying to search where they might have gone off to.
The Walking Dead Season 10 Episode 3 had a ton psychological, hypnotic moments. Not knowing what was really happening, or if any of the characters really saw what they claimed to have seen due to the sleep deprivation. I thought it was a fun episode, and great character development with Negan and Aaron, Michonne and Carol, and Eugene and Rosita. Next weeks episode looks like it might get a little further into the beginning of this “Whisperer War.”
