Pop Break Live: twenty one pilots with Misterwives at The Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia
In all the years I’ve been attending and shooting concerts, very few bands have left me with so awestruck as twenty one pilots.
The band’s epic “Banditos Tour” rolled into The Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia on October 20. The shoot-the-works spectacular saw the band take to multiple stages and utterly captivate the jam-packed arena in the City of Brotherly Love.
The spectacle of the show comes not just from the pyro, and the set pieces, but the fact the men behind the mayhem are Tyler Joseph and Josh Dun — two guys alone — putting on a show that a band with three to times TOP’s size would put on. The charisma, and craftsmanship these two put into the show, to me, easily solidifies them as the top touring band in the world right now.
Opening the show was New York City’s Misterwives, a personal favorite. The band played a dynamic set that included a cover of Lizzo’s hit “Truth Hurts.”
