Trey Anastasio never seems to rest. We’ve seen him throughout the year — whether it was Trey Anastasio’s Ghost of the Forrest Tour, the Trey Anastasio Band jamming in Brooklyn, Trey jamming with Tedeschi Trucks at LOCKN, or Phish just touring their faces off this summer.
This fall the band took a brief tour which saw them stop at the Dunkin’ Donuts Center in Providence, Rhode Island, the Nassau Coliseum on Long Island, a more intimate show at The Met (Metropolitan Opera House) in Philadelphia, and the Peterson Events Center on the campus of the University of Pittsburgh.
The band ripped through their classics while throwing in covers of Son Seals’ “Funky Bitch,” Richard Wright’s “Halley’s Comet,” Los Lobos’ “When the Circus Comes,” Argent’s “Hold Your Head Up,” and Syd Barrett’s “Terrapin.” According to Setlist.fm, this is the first time they played their cover of “Terrapin” since 2004.
The band also broke out some original tunes from the band’s solo and side projects like Trey’s “Ghosts of the Forest,” and Mike Gordon’s “Victim.” Both were played for the first time onstage by Phish.
The remainder of the Phish Fall Tour 2019 tour will see the band do a three-night stand (12/6-12/8)in the North Charleston Coliseum in Charleston, South Carolina. The band returns for their legendary four-night New Year’s Eve resident at Madison Square Garden from December 28-31.
