Sea.Hear.Now 2021 is less than two months away and it’s super-exciting to know that this festival is around the corner.
SHN is an incredible experience — from the art to the surfing to listening to live tunes on the Asbury beach. This year is particularly exciting with Pearl Jam, The Avett Brothers, Patti Scialfa, Smashing Pumpkins and a plethora of national and local acts perform. Also, you can’t deny how this festival — despite it size and renown — still feels like a great big locals hang out with a great hangout vibe to it.
Yet, one of the coolest aspects of the festivals are the legendary Late Night Shows.
On Friday September 17, there will be two late night shows. Asbury favorite Jesse Malin (of Generation X fame) will throw a show at The Stone Pony with his friends and “special guest.”
Down the block, Austin, Texas’ psych-rockers White Denim will rock The Wonder Bar starting at 8 p.m.
On Saturday September 18, there will be two mega shows.
First, Reignwolf will headline the Wonder Bar starting at 10:30 p.m. The artist just dropped his new single ‘Cabin Fever’ earlier this summer and the artist’s wild show will undoubtedly a big hit at the sublimely underrated venue.
The Ocean Ave Stomp — a show which is sold out at current moment — is one of the signature SHN shows. The Tangiers Blues Band, which features SHN founder and renowned rock photographer Danny Clinch, is the house band for the show. In years past this show always ends up being an open jam various musicians performing throughout the weekend.
