Welcome to another installment of Pop Break TV’s Live, Laugh, & Lovey. Lovey and the crew are switching things up a bit for the next few weeks, as the series that started it all, Insecure, returns for its fifth and final season. Now that Insecure & MAFS Houston are airing at the same time, Lovey and friends will be alternating which series they will discuss each week.
This week, Lovey devotes the entire episode to reviewing Insecure S5E1. Look back here this time next week for a review of the next TWO Married at First Sight episodes, followed by an episode on the next TWO Insecure episodes the following week. We appreciate your patience as we bounce back and forth between two series near and dear to our hearts. If you happened to miss the latest episodes of Insecure, or just want a refresher on the plot, take a peek below and don’t forget to follow Lovey on Twitter @iamloveytoo and check out the show on YouTube
Insecure Season 5 Episode 1
When we last saw the girls of Insecure, they were all at different points in their lives. Tiffany (Amanda Seales) and Derek (Wade Allain-Marcus) were dealing with her severe postpartum depression, Molly (Yvonne Orji) and Andrew (Alexander Hodge) broke up, and Lawrence (Jay Ellis) got a new job in San Francisco, then found out that his ex-girlfriend Condola (Christina Elmore) was pregnant, interrupting his reunion with Issa (Issa Rae).
Picking up months later, Issa, Molly, Kelli (Natasha Rothwell), Tiffany, and Derek are headed to Stanford for their ten-year college reunion. Issa has been invited to speak on an alumni panel for her organization the BLOCC (Black Life Opportunities Culture and Connection). Kelli finds that Stanford thinks she’s dead and has printed an In Memoriam in the alumni magazine to that effect.
