Welcome back to The Way Too Early Oscar Podcast! Marisa Carpico and Matt Taylor return to check in on the state of the Oscar race. They catch upon their thoughts on big releases like Dune, the surprises of the little-seen The Last Duel, the disappointments of House of Gucci and everything in between.

The Way Too Early Oscar Podcast: NYFF 2021 & The State of the Oscar Race: In the second episode of the new season and hosts Marisa Carpico and Matt Taylor are talking about all things Oscar. First and foremost, the big discussion centers around the annual New York Film Festival. Films discussed from the festival include: Joel Cohen’s The Tragedy of Macbeth (starring Denzel Washington and Frances McDormand), Power of the Dog, The Lost Daughter, C’Mon C’Mon and Pedro Almodovar’s Parallel Mothers.

They also look at the big screen adaptation of Dear Evan Hansen (starring Ben Platt and an all-star cast), The Eyes of Tammy Faye (starring Jessica Chastain in the lead role), Julia Ducournau’s horror film Titane and Sean Baker’s Red Rocket.
