You can listen to TV Break every single month on the following podcast platforms: SpotifyApple PodcastsAnchor and Google Podcasts. Please rate, review and most importantly, subscribe!

Welcome to TV Break, where Pop Break’s Podcasts Editor Alex Marcus is joined by editor-in-chief Bill Bodkin, and TV Columnist Josh Sarnecky to talk about the happenings in television.

Here’s the format of the show:

The Best Thing I Saw on TV Last Month – Alex, Bill, and Josh talk about a show/episode/event they liked from the last month including HBO MAX’s Peacemaker & Station Eleven; HBO’s Euphoria & The Gilded Age; Showtime’s Yellowjackets; and The NFL Playoffs.

News Break – Alex, Bill, and Josh discuss Paramount Plus’s failure to maintain a steady stream during one of their high profile January NFL playoff games.

Streaming Wars – Alex, Bill, and Josh pick a streamer they think “won the month” based on new shows airing/upcoming shows announced etc. This month, Alex & Josh agree that HBO MAX won the month after nearly doubling their subscriber base, year over year, while having some of the most talked about shows on TV this month including Euphoria, Station Eleven, And Just Like That, Peacemaker, and The Gilded Age. However, Bill spread the love to Peacock for its unparalleled sports moment thanks to WWE’s The Royal Rumble, the NFL’s Super Bowl, and The IOC’s Winter Olympics all streaming on the service over the next few weeks.

New Series Spotlight – Alex, Bill, and Josh watched Phil Lord & Chris Miller’s murder mystery/high school reunion comedy mashup The Afterparty, created by and starring Tiffany Haddish, Sam Richardson, Zoe Chao, Ben Schwartz, and Dave Franco. Check out the first episode on YouTube and the rest of the series on AppleTV Plus.
