If there ever was a tour that the collective world needed after the past two years, it was the Summer Tour 2022 featuring Fitz and the Tantrums and St. Paul & The Broken Bones.
The infectious, toe-tapping, hip-shaking soulful sounds of both bands pierced through the unseasonably cold, dark cloud laden atmosphere of The Stone Pony Summer Stage on Saturday June 11, 2022. The soundtrack these two bands crafted got the crowd moving despite the gloom of the day and the pandemic hangover the area has been stuck in for quite some time.
St. Paul & the Broken Bones are no strangers to the area, but the Alabama-based Southern soul outfit captured the hearts and souls of the “City that Bruce Built” back in 2019 during Sea.Hear.Now  with a blow-away Sunday after session. Lead singer Paul Janeway’s immense charisma and scintillating vocals provided a near ecclesiastical experience for audience members and it was no different during their 2022 set.
Fitz and the Tantrums brought their renowned neo soul swagger to The Stone Pony Summer Stage and it absolutely lit the audience up. The dual threat of Michael Fitzpatrick (Fitz) and Noelle Scaggs is a sight to be seen and heard, and the duo — who’ve been at this together since the band’s inception in 2008 — proved why they are one of the most dynamic vocal duos in the land today. The group ripped through all their infectious hits that had the audience moving all night long.
