There was blood on the dance floor at House of Independents last week! Hardcore heavy hitters Terror came through Asbury Park and killed it. They are on a US tour for the month of September promoting their latest album Pain Into Power. They had support on this night of tour from Long Islands own Pain of Truth, New York Hardcore greats Combust, and 100% New Jersey Hardcore Never Again.
Never Again started the show with a great set which set the tone for the night. They played songs off their 2021 demo which opened the pit and got bodies moving. Never Again are a must-see band for any New Jersey hardcore kid. If you are sleeping on this band, make sure you get out to see a show. Next up was Combust from New York. They played tracks from their latest album Another Life as well as songs from their previously released singles. This band captures the essence of New York Hardcore so well that they are unmatched by anyone else right now. They had an amazing set which kept the crowd moving and the pit going.
Next was Pain of Truth, Long Island Hardcore kings. This band was only formed in 2020 but has been an unstoppable force. They have only played amazing sets every time I have seen them, and this night was no different. They played tracks from their debut EP; No Blame Just Facts and the set was just as crazy as always. There was a massive pit with crazy moshing, tons of stage dives, and some of the best hardcore New Jersey has had come through in a bit.Â
Terror closed out the night with an insane set that is what you would expect from a Terror show. They played tracks form their latest album Pain Into Power as well as some of the greats from their catalog including One with The Underdogs and Keepers of The Faith. Terror front man Scott Vogel is as good as it gets. He can get a crowd moving better than anyone I have ever seen. His passion for everything hardcore is unmatched and it shows with his live performances. Their set included plenty of stage dives, a crazy pit, beers thrown on stage, and some broken noses. Everything you would want from a Terror show!
If you get a chance to catch this tour or any other Terror tours coming through your area, get out there and check it out. Terror brings an energy like no other band in hardcore and live up to their reputation. Go support hardcore and live music to keep this great scene going!
