Aaron and Josh Sarnecky are here for their latest TV podcast. And joining them again as special guest is Digital Trends Editor Allison Lips. This time the three are chatting about Bill Nye the Science Guy for its 30th anniversary.
Bill Nye the Science Guy is a science education show for kids. The pilot aired on KCTS-TV on April 14, 1993. 100 episodes ran on syndication and PBS from September 10, 1993 to February 5, 1999.
During each episode, he and his assistants explain a topic, such as the water cycle, flight, and germs. Segments include a spotlight on an expert of a given topic, experiments, and music video parodies.
Not only was the show popular but critically acclaimed, winning 19 Emmy Awards during six seasons. Bill Nye later hosted an adult science show, Bill Nye Saves the World, on Netflix. He is currently starring in The End Is Nye on Peacock.
Aaron, Josh, and Allison talk about growing up watching the show before going over an episode. They also discuss Bill Nye’s lasting appeal.
