Sea Hear Now 2023 already has a stacked lineup with Foo Fighters, The Killers, Weezer, Sheryl Crow and so many other iconic (and up-and-coming) names filling the bill for the fifth installment of the two-day beachfront festival in Asbury Park, New Jersey.

Yet, it wouldn’t be a Sea Hear Now without the legendary late night shows. These shows immediately became the stuff of legendary when artists would jump on stage to jam with each other — creating once-in-a-lifetime experiences for fans. It’s also been a great platform for fest-goers to experience some of the amazing local bands that populate the vibrant Asbury music scene.

Kicking things off on Friday Night September 15 will be a show dubbed “Oteil & Friends.” Oteil Burbridge was the bassist for The Allman Brothers from 1997-2014 and just got off tour with Dead & Company. His famed “Oteil & Friends” shows are the stuff of jam legend and this one will be no different as he’s bringing guitarist Steve Kimmock, Melvin Seals of the Jerry Garcia Band, Duane Betts (son of Allman guitarist Dickey Betts), Jason Crosby, Johnny Kimock and Lamar Williams Jr. Doors are at 7:30pm. Tickets are available here.

Down the block at The Wonder Bar is the second annual all locals show that’s been dubbed “There Goes the Neighborhood.” This show is not to be missed as it will feature Sunshine Spazz (who performed last year), Tide Bends, and Baquenne. Doors are at 7:30, must be 21+ to enter. Tickets are available here.

The infamous Ocean Avenue Stomp returns on Saturday September 16. This show kicks off at 10:30 p.m. and is always one of the hottest and hardest to find tickets in town. Sea.Hear.Now co-creator Danny Clinch and The Tangiers Blues Band will perform on The Stone Pony Stage and there will be a plethora famous guests hopping on stage to jam with the band. It’s a guarantee you’ll see once-in-a-lifetime jams at his show. Ticket are available here.

Down the block, things are gonna get a little weird and wild as Australian psych rockers Babe Rainbow will be headlining The Wonder Bar. The highly eclectic New South Wales-based band has jammed with psych rock gods King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard and actor/musician Jaden Smith. Click here for tickets.
