The time has come again when we predict ROH’s final pay-per-view of the year in Final Battle. On this show, we will have a women’s main event for the second time in ROH history, crown a new ROH TV Champion, and so much more. Hopefully, this is where I defeat Team Bill for the first time in a year.
ROH Pure Championship: Wheeler Yuta vs Tom Lawlor:
Kimmy: After not being able to compete on Forbidden Door due to Adam Cole’s illness, Lawlor gets a shot on Final Battle. This should be a good match, but I do not see Yuta losing the title here, especially since he just won it.
Winner: “And Still” Wheeler Yuta
Bill: I would love with a capital LOVE, Ol’ Filthy Tom to win here. I think he’d be great in ROH and AEW. However, it’s not the case. Yoots gonna get the W.
Winner: “And Still” Wheeler Yuta
Triple A Mega Championship: El Hijo Del Vikingo vs Black Taurus:
Kimmy: I enjoy every time we see Vikingo in ROH because he always puts on amazing matches and this one will be no different. Don’t be surprised if after this match we see the graphic that says Vikingo is All Elite.
Winner: “And Still” El Hijo Del Vikingo
Bill: Vikingo rules, but Black Taurus does as well. If Taurus was not exclusive to TNA/Impact, he’d be my pick. But, the reigning champ is going to keep that reign going until Konnan can figure out who to beat him with.
Winner: “And Still” El Hijo Del Vikingo
Survival of the Fittest Finals for the Vacant ROH Television Championship: Dalton Castle vs Komander vs Kyle Fletcher vs Lee Johnson vs Lee Moriarty vs TBD:
Kimmy: This match should be Samoa Joe defending his title instead of him vacating it, but that is a rant for another day. This match is going to hit, the TBD is most likely going to be John Morrison given the interaction he and Dalton Castle had last week on ROH TV. Since every promo Castle has cut over the last month has included him talking about doing things for the TV audience, this is a must-win for the peacock, this is Castle’s night.
Winner: “And New” Dalton Castle
Bill: TBD has me intrigued. If it’s someone completely out of left field — like Hobbs or Takeshita or someone new and signed to ROH (e.g. Hammerstone, Richard Holliday) — that’s who I’m going with. If it’s someone like a John Morrison, or a cameo appearance from someone from AAA or New Japan, then put the belt on the proudest peacock of them all or The Aussie Arrow. But what the hell, let’s be different…
Winner: “And New” TBD
Keith Lee vs Shane Taylor:
Kimmy: I think this is the only match on the card that has not been built up on ROH TV and instead has been built up on Collision. Sadly I do not think any of the members of Shane Taylor Promotions are going to win on this show. However, if they do not plan on using Lee on AEW programming and put him in ROH there are plenty of dream matches for him to have there.
Winner: Keith Lee
Bill: Why does Keith Lee win this match? Keith Lee will win this match because he will be one of the first people challenging for the newly minted American Triple Crown Champion. Also, don’t be surprised if he and Taylor make amends and join forces in 2024.
Winner: Keith Lee
I Quit Match: Ethan Page vs Tony Nese:
Kimmy: Although I would personally love it if either of these men were in the Survival of the Fittest match this feud has been great. I am enjoying Page’s run in ROH and I think we are seeing him gain more confidence and come into his own. Since Nese was the one who screwed Page out of his ongoing winning streak, Page has to win this one.
Winner: Ethan Page
Bill: Ethan Page should be your new ROH TV champion, and it will not surprise me if he forces his way into that match to win. Page, more than Nese, needs the Big W here, as he’ll also be gunning for the Triple Crown in 2024.
Jay Briscoe Memorial Fight Without Honor: BCC (Claudio Castagnoli, Bryan Danielson, and Jon Moxley) vs FTR (Dax Harwood and Cash Wheeler) and Mark Briscoe:
Kimmy: Bryan Danielson is coming home because he is returning to ROH, that’s a treat. This was a cool idea by Tony Khan to have a memorial for Jay on a show that has been a staple in ROH history. This match is going to be bloody and violent as Jay will be looking down so proud of his brother for defending his honor. This one is going to dem boyz and the seven-star tag team.
Winners: FTR (Dax Harwood and Cash Wheeler) and Mark Briscoe
Bill: Kimmy and I are in lock step … again. Mark hasn’t won anything in the Continental Classic, but it’s a match honoring his brother. Give him the W.
Winners: FTR (Dax Harwood and Cash Wheeler) and Mark Briscoe
ROH Women’s Championship: Athena vs Billie Starkz:
Kimmy: This match is my Match of the Year and it has not even happened yet. This story alone has been the best thing on ROH TV and everyone involved in this storyline has been a star. Athena has proven why she is the most dominant ROH Women’s Champion of all time and has shown that a woman can be the face of a wrestling brand. Starkz has proven that she is the future and she is well beyond her years in the ring. Lexy Nair has shown that you can be a backstage correspondent and also have a prevalent role in a storyline. If you have not seen anything with this storyline please watch this video you will not regret it. In terms of a winner, this one has to go to Starkz ROH is all about young upstarts carrying the future of ROH and that is just what Starkz will do. Hopefully, Athena will move up to be a mainstay for AEW programming as the fallen goddesses will finally find the one to take away her title.
Winner: “And New” Billie Starkz
Bill: Man, what if they don’t pull the trigger on Billie just yet. Remember what they did with Hangman? It is Athena’s backyard. She is the face of company. I understand that this storyline has been built PERFECTLY, but we’ve also seen what happens when you let the story go a little longer. While I think “Big Bill” wins here, don’t be shocked if Athena retains and defies the odds.
Winner: “And New” Billie Starkz
ROH Final Battle is streaming live on December 15th at 8 PM EST exclusively on Honor Club
The current record in Bill vs Kimmy is 2-1-1, in favor of Bill
