Socially Distanced: Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man + Ryan Coogler’s Sinners

The Socially Distanced Podcast was created by two pop culture-obsessed dads during COVID who decided to take their Facebook messenger conversations and turn them into a podcast. In 2022 they brought their friend, a pop culture-obsessed mom to the show, and things got even better!

Join hosts Amanda Rivas and Bill Bodkin as they discuss everything in the world movies, music, sports, television and pop culture — everything keeping them sane in this time of socially distancing. This podcast is powered by ThePopBreak.com.

Socially Distanced heads back to the Marvel Animated universe via Disney Plus for some web-slinging fun!

This week Pop Break’s editor-in-chief Bill Bodkin and “The Human Star Wars Encyclopedia” Amanda Rivas go guest-less this week (we hope our planned guess Dr. the Wife of Face4Wrestling feels better soon!) to discuss the new Marvel Animation Studios series, Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man, which saw its first two episodes debut on Disney Plus earlier this month.

Bill and Amanda discuss the unique comic book-style animation of the series, if the series surpassed their hype level, the staggering amount of Easter Eggs in the first two episodes, the gloriousness of Coleman Domingo as Norman Osborn, the variations on the Peter Parker origin story, and their theories on where the series could go and how Daredevil will be involved.

In the pre-game segment, they discuss the extremely revealing and spoiler-filled trailer for the new Ryan Coogler/Michael B. Jordan film Sinners, the fine line trailers have to walk and their thoughts on Quentin Tarantino’s comments on the movie industry.
