AEW All In Texas Predictions: Will Hangman Win Big One

Written by Bill Bodkin & Michael Dworkis

AEW All in Texas takes place Saturday July 12 from Globe Life Field in Arlington, Texas. It’s one of the biggest American shows in AEW history and we’re here to give predictions!

The Congolmeration: Big Boom AJ, Hologram, Tomohiro Ishii & Kyle O’Reilly vs. The Callis Family: RPG Vice, Lance Archer & Hechicero

Mike’s Thoughts: A fun pre-show opener. Gotta get the early crowd into the show and what better way than with the “fun crew” against a group of sourpusses. O’Reilly back in complete goofball mode is comedy gold.

Predictions: The Conglomeration.

Bill’s Thoughts: This will be a big, fun, crowd-pleasing opener. Orange Cassidy returns to help his Conglomerades out. Wouldn’t be shocked if we end up with Big Boom vs. Don Callis at some point in the future.

Predictions: The Conglomeration

FTR vs. The Outrunners

Mike’s Thoughts: I had to re-watch the match between The Outrunners and FTR from Collision. This is not the same Outrunners from last year. Something has clicked and they’ve upped their game big time. The Vascular Duo needs something big to regain the momentum they previously had while aligned with FTR. Concluding this feud on a pre-show just seems abrupt. Let’s hit the gas on this one. Give me Best 2-out-of-3-Falls.

Predictions: The Outrunners

Bill’s Thoughts: While I hate betting against “The Youngest Men Alive,” there’s no way they beat FTR. This match is going to be really surprising for some as The Outrunners will show out and put on a hell of a match. FTR are the masters of tag wrestling, so they’re going to be Turbo & Truth look like stars. Don’t rule out a special “corner person” for The Outrunners.

Predictions: FTR

AEW World Tag Team Title Match: The Hurt Syndicate © vs. Jet Speed vs. The Patriarchy vs. FTR

Mike’s Thoughts: They are pushing JetSpeed hard, maybe too hard? This feels like a feint, where a team is pushed to the moon only to come up short. Being this is a triple-threat, this would make it the right match to take the championships off a ridiculously dominant team without anyone from said team to get pinned. Kevin Knight could pin Christian Cage and there you go. This could also lead to Nick Wayne finally breaking ranks from the Patriarchy.

Predictions: JetSpeed

Bill’s Thoughts: It wouldn’t shock me if a stipulation gets added to the FTR vs. Outrunners match where the winner gets into this match. If that’s the case, don’t be shocked if they get the W. I think the belts are changing hands because they did the injury angle with The Hurt Syndicate, so there’s an “out” for them to lose — they’re banged up. I’d put the belts on Jet Speed as they are the hottest midcard babyfaces in AEW and this would allow them to feud with the richer heel tag division – The Don Callis Family, FTR, and The Young Bucks.

Predictions: Jet Speed

AEW World Trios Tag Title Match: The Opps: Samoa Joe, Powerhouse Hobbs, & Katsuyori Shibata vs. The Death Riders: Wheeler Yuta, Gabe Kidd, Claudio Castagnoli

Mike’s Thoughts: I was thinking Hook could show up and cost The Opps the championships. I don’t think this will happen. It’s a bit of a conundrum. If the Death Riders win, it could fool fans into thinking that Mox will continue dominating, but then loses instead. Would they use the Trios Championship to swerve the main event? Doubtful, but not impossible.

Predictions: The Opps

Bill’s Thoughts: The only way The Opps lose this match is if HOOK returns to cost them the titles (which is a distinct possibility). The other possibility is a return of EDDIE KINGSTON to take Gabe Kidd out (although that could also happen in the main). This is going to a very physical match that will deliver the goods.

Predictions: The Opps

AEW TNT Title Match: Adam Cole © vs. “The Protostar” Kyle Fletcher

Mike’s Thoughts: The TNT Championship has been an afterthought for the better part of a year. Cole’s reign is much like Garcia’s of being hyped but turning uneventful. A big heel is needed for babyfaces to chase. Give this championship a refresh.

Predictions: Kyle Fletcher

Bill’s Thoughts: I know that Adam Cole won the TNT Title only a few months ago, and his — not unlike many TNT champs before him — has been lackluster. There’s a shot he could retain here allowing for a stipulation match at All In or Forbidden Door. However, I think “The Protostar” leaves Texas with Gold.

Predictions: Kyle Fletcher

Women’s Casino Gauntlet:

Confirmed Entrants: Kris Statlander, Megan Bayne, Athena, Thunder Rosa

Mike’s Predictions:
Guesses On Other Entrants: Mina Shirakawa, Julia Hart, Queen Aminata, Thekla, Willow Nightingale, Penelope Ford, Skye Blue, Anna Jay, Tay Melo

Wild Card/Cameo/Surprise Entrants: Deonna Purazzo, Jamie Hayter, Harley Cameron, Hikaru Shida, Nyla Rose, Serena Deeb, Dr. Britt Baker, D.M.D., Alex Windsor

Winner: Without knowing an official roster, it’s hard to call. Obviously a lot depends on the result of Storm vs. Mone. I’d take a stab should Storm win, then Statlander will be the next challenger. Best I got.

Bill’s Predictions:
Guesses On Other Entrants: Thekla, Mina Shirakawa, Julia Hart, Skye Blue, Willow Nightingale, Penelope Ford, Billie Starkz, Anna Jay, Tay Melo.

Returns: Hikaru Shida, Riho, Britt Baker, Ruby Soho, Yuka Sakazaki, Marina Shafir

Debuts: Dakota Kai, Alex Windsor

Winner: This is a tough one to call. I think we come down to Statlander and Willow in the final of this with Willow Nightingale coming out on top.

Men’s Casino Gauntlet:

Confirmed Entrants: MJF, Mark Briscoe, Bandido, Brody King, Mistico

Mike’s Predictions:
Guesses On Other Entrants: Anthony Bowens, AR Fox, Dralistico, The Beast Mortos, Josh Alexander, Konosuke Takeshita, Ricochet, Dustin Rhodes, Sammy Guevara

Returns: Jack Perry, Orange Cassidy, Mark Davis, Scorpio Sky
Debuts: None.

Winner: MJF – Unless there’s an upset, it’s got to be Max. Assuming my men’s main event prediction is correct, we need a solid heel to be the first challenger.

Bill’s Predictions:
Guesses On Other Entrants: Anthony Bowens, Daniel Garcia, Roderick Strong, Beast Mortos, Bryan Keith, Dustin Rhodes, Josh Alexander, Kota Ibushi, Mascara Dorada.

Returns: Adam Copeland, Chris Jericho, Hiroshi Tanahashi, Orange Cassidy

Debuts: None.

Winner: MJF — it’s the perfect opponent for Hangman. Have him run through the Hurt Syndicate then (eventually) drop the title to Maxwell Jacob Friedman.

Unification Match: Kenny Omega vs. Kazuchika Okada

Mike’s Thoughts: Okada’s run as champion started out great, but gradually faded, and the Continental Championship became an afterthought. I have a hard time seeing Okada retaining, unless he will be featured more often with credible title defenses. According to Excalibur, the diverticulitis has been taking a beating, so perhaps here is where those with gastroenterological issues will find their hero redeemed.

Predictions: Kenny Omega

Bill’s Thoughts: Omega leads the series 2-1-1. I can see Okada taking this one take to make it 2-2-1. The tiebreaker comes in Japan for Wrestle Dynasty with a super weekend of potentially Okada vs. Tanahashi in Tana’s retirement match at Wrestle Kingdom and then Okada vs. Omega at WD.

Predictions: Okada

Young Bucks vs. Swerve Strickland & Will Ospreay
If The Bucks Win: Swerve & Ospreay cannot challenge for the AEW Title for 1 Year

If Swerve & Ospreay Win: The Bucks give up their EVP Title

Mike’s Thoughts: I almost forgot about the stipulation where Matt and Nick will no longer be EVPs should they lose. Of course we want their nefarious schemes to be foiled, but this one may not appease fans. This is the Cody Rhodes scenario, where instead of never challenging for the World Championship, it’s only for a year. Swerve and Ospreay can continue feuding with The Bucks, or the Callis Family. They’re always in a top spot, even when championships are not being chased.

Predictions: Young Bucks

Bill’s Thoughts: The stip gives this one away. AEW creative has thrown a challenge to itself — don’t rely on the easy options of Ospreay and Swerve in the title scene. Build new people. Also, it bolsters The Bucks as heels even more. Their run this time around has been excellent and a Bucks/Jet Speed feud could be great.

Predictions: Young Bucks

AEW Women’s Title Match: Toni Storm © vs. Mercedes Mone

Mike’s Thoughts: This will have Match of the Year written all over it. The build has been tremendous. It’s the Belt Collector who has collected championships from all over the world, facing the woman who is the Champion OF the World. Storm will have to lose the championship eventually, but it shouldn’t be to Mone.

Predictions: “Timeless” Toni Storm

Bill’s Thoughts: If Mercedes loses this could lead her Kenny Omega-esque descent into madness where she loses ALL her titles. This could lead to her becoming a babyface and then challenging whomever the heel that beats Toni Storm is. Or, we could see her become 47 Belts Mone where she wins the title. It’s a no-lose situation to be honest because this match is going to rule. The smart money … or mone … is keeping the belt on The Timeless One and then let someone new and fresh win the belt off her (Statlander, Willow, etc).  However, I do think they’re going to keep Mercedes hot and have her win.

Predictions: Mercedes Mone

AEW World Title Match — Texas Death Match: Jon Moxley © vs. Hangman Page

Mike’s Thoughts: Put Bryan Danielson on commentary! This is the big one. BIG. For Adam Page, it’s booked as years in the making. To be bluntly honest, it’s been in the making since he lost the championship. Since he snapped and turned vicious. Since he aligned with the Dark Order. It has all led to this. Will Page come out to his old heroic theme, or will his current theme stay? Answer: It should. The uber-babyface can’t win the championship. But the vengeance-seeking, cutthroat, remorseless, and violent Hangman can win it. What better match than Texas Death to do it? The end of the Death Riders is nigh, and it won’t be without a tremendous amount of disruptions. Danielson might get involved. Swerve might get involved. John Silver might get involved. Eddie Kingston might get involved. This will have the old school showcloser moment akin to August 4th, 1997, WCW Nitro where Lex Luger defeated “Hollywood” Hogan after his hostage-taking of the WCW Championship. The locker room emptied out, the fans celebrated, the company celebrated, it was the moment.

This is going to be AEW’s moment. “Hangman” Adam Page’s moment.

Predictions: “Hangman” Adam Page

Bill’s Thoughts: This will be AEW’s version of the Avengers: Endgame finish we saw at Wrestlemania 40. There is potential for The Death Riders, The Elite, The Opps, Will Ospreay, Darby Allin, Sting, Eddie Kingston, Bryan Danielson, Swerve Strickland, Kenny Omega, Okada and more to get involved. I could see a situation where Ospreay and The Opps are taken out and the crowd has to wonder who will come out to save them. Imagine a complete Endgame ending where it’s Darby … then Sting … then Kingston … then Danielson. MY GOD.

Regardless of these shenanigans, there’s going to be so many moments where it looks like Mox is going to retain and we’re all going to be devastated, only for Hangman to kick out at 2 99/100ths. It’s going to be bloody, violent, glorious, emotional and the best.

Predictions: Hangman
