There are some bands who put on shows and others that create experiences, the kind that keep loyal fans coming back for more time and time again.
Indie rock act Lord Huron have maintained a dedicated fanbase throughout the years thanks to their imaginative and immersive live shows and their latest Cosmic Selector tour is yet another fine achievement for the band.
Touring off of their latest record, The Cosmic Selector Vol 1, the band’s set was a strong showcase for lead singer Ben Schneider’s sincere and commanding stage presence along with his understated yet undeniably captivating vocal performances.
The rest of the band also displayed their passionate musicianship and the on-stage chemistry felt perhaps the most organic it’s felt for any Lord Huron tour to date, it’s also a testament to the genuine artistry present that each member stood out individually while also playing off of each other seamlessly.
The visuals and production for this current tour was also visually stunning with elements of neo-noir and Westerns integrated along with the inclusion of a dance number and interludes, this cinematic element truly enhanced the impact of the music.
While this tour was in service of their latest record, Lord Huron’s setlist managed to offer a strong representation of their discography. Highlights included fan favorites such as “The Night We Met”, “Meet Me in The Woods,” resonated greatly live as did other deep cuts such as “Ends of The Earth” and “Ghost on The Shore” which were surprising yet welcome additions to the setlist.
Perhaps what truly stands out about Lord Huron live each time is how soulful and inclusive their shows feel and the Cosmic Selector Your truly feels like the band at their most confident and engaging. For many artists one key goal is making sure each tour offers a memorable and unique experience that fans will connect with.
For Lord Huron, their live shows have long been a staple and their Cosmic Selector Tour may arguably be their most accomplished and artful outing to date. For fans both newly established or long-term the Cosmic Selector tour comes highly recommended and stands as a singular triumph for Lord Huron.
