WWE Survivor Series: War Games San Diego takes place on Saturday November 29 live from Petco Park in San Diego, California. The 39th annual November classic begins at 7 p.m. EST and will air exclusively on the ESPN app.
Here’s our predictions on how Survivor Series: War Games San Diego will go down this weekend.
WWE Women’s World Title Match: Stephanie Vaquer © vs. Nikki Bella
Thoughts: I’m assuming the only reason Nikki got this match is because she’s from San Diego, California (where Survivor Series is taking place this year) because in kayfabe how does she deserve a world title match? She lost four matches in a row before she attacked Stephanie. I guess you can say that in “anger” Stephanie accepted the challenge. Either way I think we can all agree. This is probably the least excited I am for any match on the pay-per-view.
Prediction: Stephanie Vaquer retains, it will be interesting to see if Stephanie could really make Nikki look good in this match, I’m expecting because she’s the heel Nikki to be on top for most of the match with Vaquer making a baby face comeback for the win.
Intercontinental Title Match: John Cena © vs. “Dirty” Dominik Mysterio
Thoughts: I’ll be honest here’s another match that I’m kinda meh about. Don’t get me wrong, I wanted John to face Dom on RAW and beat him for the Intercontinental Title. That was perfect. But we didn’t need another rematch, especially not for John’s last pay-per-view match of all time.
Dom vs. Rey both being from San Diego was the perfect match & storyline they could have for the AAA championship at Survivor Series. Meanwhile, John Cena should have been in the men’s War Games match. His last PPV getting to main event with the other biggest names in the industry.
Prediction: Cena retains and loses the belt eventually to whoever wins the tournament (cough cough Gunther).
Women’s War Games Match:
Rhea Ripley, Iyo Sky, Alexa Bliss, Charlotte Flair, AJ Lee
Vs.
Nia Jax, Lash Legend, Becky Lynch, Asuka, Kairi Sane
Thoughts: Okay, now this is a match I’m actually really excited about and is the match I’m looking forward to the most on the entire PPV. Granted, the buildup wasn’t perfect. It was actually very awkward and I don’t know why they went in the direction they went. Like do we need fake animosity between Rhea and Charlotte to make it seem like the baby faces weren’t gonna get along?
Also it took forever to add AJ Lee and Becky lynch to the teams when everyone excepted them to be the leaders of each team.
Prediction: Babyface women’s team wins. This has the potential to be the best women’s War Games of all time which is saying a lot because every year it’s probably the better match of the two, the talent in this match is bonkers. I’m expecting a borderline classic.
Men’s War Games Match:
“The American Nightmare” Cody Rhodes, CM Punk, Roman Reigns, “Main Event” Jey Uso, Jimmy Uso
Vs.
“The Beast Incarnate” Brock Lesnar, “Big” Bronson Reed, Bron Breakker, Drew McIntyre, “The Maverick” Logan Paul
Thoughts: Let’s get some of the positives and negatives out the way. Positives: probably the most STACKED lineup in War Games history. Legitimately every top name (except for Cena) is in this match. Negatives: this felt super rushed and random. For example, how is LA Knight not in this match? He’s been feuding with The Vision for six months straight. The real reason is, he apparently has backstage heat for holding up a sign that a fan made..stupid, yeah.
Then you have Cody Rhodes who felt COMPLETELY shoehorned into the match for no apparent reason. I feel a little better with him being in a match after the promo he gave on SmackDown this past week. Talking about his father made the match so it’s in his bloodline and if anybody deserves to be in war games ever, it’s him.
I think the buildup for the men’s and women’s War Games has been the worst It’s been since they started doing the stipulation.
Prediction: Men’s Heel team wins, they have to. I mean a lineup of Brock Lesnar, Drew McIntyre, Bron Breakker, Bronson Reed and Logan Paul is there. (Just don’t mind the promo written on his hand).
If I was booking this match I have the heels win in a borderline squash match, you make it competitive towards the end to make it seem like the baby faces are about to have this huge comeback. But in the end the heels should dominate, especially since all the top baby faces are on the other team. If the heels win way better storylines come from it.
