There’s a lot to pack in for AEW All Out. We’ve got revenge matches, title feuds, and straight-up grudges. The opening contest of AEW Dynamite 9/16/26 is preceded by a backstage segment featuring the team of Darby Allin and Steve Borden with Cope & Cage where they appear on the same page until Christian begins to ask about Borden’s father and teases a run for the TNT Championship.
On the opposite end, FTR with Kevin Knight and Kyle Fletcher seem to struggle with being aligned as Knight and Fletcher suggest they replace FTR in the Tag Team Championship Ladder match. Very much felt like a promo from the good ol’ days of WWF Survivor Series or WCW War Games where some teams just couldn’t get along.
Borden continues to look impressive. His dropkick rivals both Okada and Hardcore Holly. With ongoing training, he has serious potential.
Cope, Cage, Darby, and Borden defeated Dax, Cash, Fletcher, and Knight after a chaotic final scene where Christian took out Fletcher and Cash on the outside, while Darby and Borden hit their Scorpion Coffin Drop combo for the win.
Jericho defeated Nick Wayne
I did not have Jericho + Wayne = Awesome match on my 2026 Bingo Card. A contest of generations of experience against youth and a fire to prove oneself. Jericho pulled out a lot of classics from ‘96 and busted out a few never seen before. Wayne shows his confidence throughout the match. He is very good at exuding the entitlement expected of his youth. However, this was squashed when Jericho pulled off his necklace, then wrapped Wayne up for the pinfall.
Wayne then appears to throw a tantrum while the live crowd chants “Where’s your mother?” at him. Jericho offers a handshake, but Wayne isn’t having it. This is a feint, as Wayne attacks from behind, then clobbering him with a chair.
Wayne/Jericho feud? You know what? Let’s go.
Backstage: Renee Paquette is with United Empire: AEW World Champion Will Ospreay, Andrade El Idolo, and Francisco Akira as they hype up their main event match tonight. Ospreay and Idolo agree to be on the same page, and then Akira goes off in Italian. Ospreay tells him to speak English, which results in lots of profanity, but in a comical way. Ospreay apologizes and promises to pay any fines.
Ring of Honor World Champion Bandido, “Hangman” Adam Page, and Brody King defeated Orange Cassidy, Roderick Strong, and Kyle O’Reilly
An absolute fun matchup. From hot tags to a marathon of backbreakers. Brody and Cassidy had some good comedy spots. Roddy takes the MVP with his unending barrage of backbreakers. Bandido took Cassidy up with a stalling bench press into a cutter. Roddy shoves Cassidy out of harm’s way but winds up eating a Buckshot Lariat.
O’Reilly is a blur with his striking game. The man is a maniac. Push him again, please.
Page, Brody, and Bandido will challenge for the AEW World Trios Championships at All Out.
Backstage: Tommaso Ciampa demands a championship match against Kazuchika Okada for the AEW International Championship.
Tommaso Ciampa defeated Myles Hawkins
More like, “murdered.” Which, to be fair, the live crowd did warn Hawkins with a “Ciampa’s gonna kill you” chant. Ciampa hit a massive knee strike as Myles gave his gear to a ringside attendant.
We were supposed to hear from Swerve and The New Level, but The Demand brutally attacked them. Very violently. They will face off next week on Dynamite in a championship match.
Taped promo: “Jungle” Jack Perry needs a big match to get back where he belongs, so what does he think to do? Challenge Samoa Joe. That’s what he does.
“Colossal” Lena Kross defeated Jamie Hayter
Kross was dominant, but Hayter showed her rugged toughness, refusing to allow defeat. The contest was even; Megan Bayne came to ringside, distracting referee Aubrey Edwards. This allowed Kross to hit Hayter with a pipe. One Jackhammer later, and it’s all over.
Backstage: The Brawling Birds are hurting, but promise to make Divine Dominion hurt worse.
Backstage: Renee asks Okada about Ciampa’s challenge. He tells her he did think about it. Renee prompts him to answer the question, at which point he says he thought about how Ciampa is a B****. Welp, he must have been listening as he flies out of nowhere to attack the champ, calling him a cowardly b****.
This will be a very good match.
The Death Riders defeated United Empire
Mox teases, starting with Ospreay, but he tags out to Kidd. The guy is a bona fide animal. PAC is not human. Akira is insane. Andrade is Mr. Main Event. My one gripe is how noticeable it is when everyone is selling except for Mox. I get it, he’s the big bad of AEW. But if you get taken down, and hard, you have to make at least it look like you’ve lost a bit of stamina.
Akira took the brunt of the punishment and wound up being the one to eat three underhook DDT variations and then was forced to submit to Mox. After the match, the Death Riders and the Dogs overwhelm UE. It appears Akira is going to be taken out for good with a chair wrapped around his neck, but Ospreay manages to save him, but barely. It seems Mox’s goodwill towards Ospreay is at its end. Perhaps Kidd and PAC have finally gotten through to Mox to no longer respect the World Champion.
All Out is looking quite good, chock full of grudge-level matches with championship stakes. The non-title bouts are also interesting. I did not have Ciampa/Okada or Perry/Joe on my PPV bingo card, but I gladly welcomed these with great interest.
