bill bodkin and logan j. fowler get abducted…
Theater, Rent, No Thanks, Undecided? Rent. Let the movie gods bring fire down upon me for this, but I’ve never seen the original Taken. I know, I know, it’s probably a crime. Liam Neeson playing a bad ass dad who saves his daughter by completely owning her kidnappers by proving he’s a force to be reckoned with. The sequel is the same idea, only with Neeson’s wife (Famke Janssen) being the one kidnapped. I would like to see both of these honestly but maybe I’ll just wait for Taken 2 to hit the DVD market so I can double up on this series for a stay at home Friday or Saturday night. –LJF

Theater, Rent, No Thanks, Undecided? Theater. The original Taken was seriously badass. Was it an amazingly well-crafted film…no, but it was pure escapist fun. In Taken 2, we see Liam Neeson returning to kick even more ass including that of Rade Serbedzija AKA the best Russian/Eastern European villain character actor of the past 20 years. Now, I’m a bit concerned that Maggie Grace, who plays Neeson’s daughter, is going to be a bit out of place in aiding her pops in ass-kicking. I don’t think she’s going to be very believable, however, I think Neeson’s sheer presence can mask her faults. It’s a trait the actor has had well before his foray into action flicks — he’s always been to elevate or at least overshadow poor performances by his co-stars. So in closing, Taken 2, yes please. –BB
i dont get it. if they want revenge for him killing their families and friends, why would they kidnap his wife? wouldn’t they just kill her?
I think they try and “take” both Liam Neeson and the wife, but he somehow escapes. So they keep the wife in order to draw him in.
