Theater, Rent, No Thanks, Undecided? Rent (maybe). I have still never seen the reboot of Planet of the Apes with Rise of the Planet of the Apes (seriously, can they shorten these titles a bit? Sheesh), but I’ve heard good things, mainly surprising. While that one featured James Franco probably just phoning it in, the sequel features a one Gary Oldman, seeming like he’s doing way more than Franco ever could for the franchise. Maybe in due time I’ll rent both movies and do a double feature. We’ll see. My interest in this series is not exactly massive. –LJF

Theater, Rent, No Thanks, Undecided? Undecided. Like Logan James, I have not seen the predecessor to this film. However, whoever put this trailer together should be given a fat check because they’ve created a very tense trailer that really draws you in without resorting to showing clips of over-the-top action sequences (like the film’s predecessor did). I’ve never had much interest in the Apes series, but after watching this trailer my interest really has been picquet. While I might not watch it in the local cineplex, a rental might be in the cards. –BB
