Pop-Press: Point Break Comes Alive! in Brooklyn

It’s one the coolest live experiences.

The Great White Caps, the fantastic surf-rock band, will be performing their legendary Point Break Comes Alive! show at The Brooklyn Bowl tonight. Doors are at 6:00pm with the show starting around 9pm. Tickets are $7 and it’s a 21+ show.

The concept of the show is beyond thunder dome awesome. Yes, we’re totally biased because Point Break was the inspiration for the name of this site, but also because we’ve seen this show live before.

The GWC’s take the stage and re-score all the action sequences (and even the love scenes) in the film, adding a new layer of surftastic awesomeness to an already surftastically awesome movie. The experience when the band is not performing plays like a Rocky Horror Picture Show experience — people screaming out lines, drinking and enjoying life.

Sadly, this may be on the last times for a while that you’ll see this kind of show as the band will be hanging up their boards this year. So this is a pretty special show.
