Press Release — Sebastien Granger Drops a New Music Video for “The Streets Are Still a Mess”
Before launching a solo career in 2008, Toronto native Sebastien Grainger found an audience as the drum-playing vocalist of Death from Above 1979. Currently focusing on his solo career, Grainger just dropped the video for ‘The Streets Are Still a Mess’ off his album, Yours To Discover on Last Gang Records.
Shot on 35mm film in the industrial outskirts of Glendale and downtown Los Angeles, CA, “The Streets Are Still A Mess” video takes its cues from a range of film and photographic sources. Gang lore films such as “Rumble Fish” and “Warriors”, song and dance staples “West Side Story” and “Beat It” and the post war German “Rebel Youth” photography of Karlheinz Weinberger were an inspiration for director Eva Michon.
