It’s going to be a gorgeous day on Saturday, July 12 and if you’re in the New York City area — why not go over and catch a free music festival? From 1-8pm at The South Street Seaport (rain or shine), The Village Voice will be hosting their annual free (we can’t stress that enough) 4 Knots Music Festival. The festival will feature Dinosaur Jr., Mac DeMarco, Those Darlins, Speedy Ortiz, Radkey, Viet Cong, Nude Beach, Juan Wauters, Re-TROS, and Dead Stars. Set times for the day will be announced on the morning of the festival on www.VillageVoice.com.

There are still a few tickets remaining for the 4Knots Official After-Party featuring Ab-Soul and special guests Jarren Benton & YC the Cynic with DJ Meka (2DopeBoyz), hosted by Low Key (Youheardthatnew). The After Party will be held at Webster Hall immediately following the daytime 4Knots Music Festival. Use code VOICE to get $5 off tickets at http://www.villagevoice.com/4knots. Tickets will also be available at the door for $30.

And now the official press release material for sponsors, info, food and other vital info…

Official 4Knots Music Festival merchandise will also be available for purchase onsite at both Village Voice booths on Pier 16 and Fulton Street on the day of the festival. Also launched this week, the Official 4Knots Map is now available for attendees to check out at www.villagevoice.com/4knots/map.

In addition to the 10 bands slated for the festival, 4Knots Music Festival will also feature Free Phone Charging Stations located on Pier 16 presented by City Tech, plus a Free Photo Booth located on Pier 16 presented by Fairway Market. Also make sure to visit the official 4Knots Food Truck Courtyard, located on Water and Fulton Streets featuring, Papaya King, Crepes Truck, Softee Xpress, Shanghai Sogo, Nuchas, Uncle Gussy’s and Yankee Doodle Dandy.

This year’s 4Knots Music Festival will feature two outdoor stages spanning from Pier 16 to the Seaport’s Sea/Change walk. The Village Voice continues their 14-year history of curating free, outdoor, all ages live music festivals featuring the most renowned and emerging artists breaking through today’s scene. Running between every borough of New York City and culminating near the South Street Seaport, the East River runs at a speed of “4 knots”, hence the name of the festival at this unique and historic location.

Bud Light is returning as the 4Knots Music Festival presenting sponsor. Additional 2014 sponsors include Metro PCS, Deep Eddy, ZUUS Media, Prefunc, Fairway Market, Original Bill’s, City Tech, Once the Musical, Barefoot Wine & Bubbly, Rita’s Water Ice, Steaz, Kind, Hornblower Cruises, Green Mountain Energy, Give More, Mrs. Dorsey’s Kitchen, SCRATCHbread and Volvic.
