Trailer Tuesday: Transformers 3: Dark Of The Moon

bill bodkin and logan j. fowler debate on whether to watch the third Transformers movie … will it suck or will it be more than meets the eye?

Theater, Rent, No Thanks, Undecided? No thanks.
When I first viewed the original Transformers flick, I pleasantly enjoyed it. Then the second movie came out. And, well, I hated it. It was long, boring, and had two of the most annoying robots to ever hit the silver screen. With that said, I decided to swear off Transformers:Dark Of The Moon as I loathed the second one so much. Now I’ve heard those robots that I despise aren’t in the third one, which is a step in the right direction. However, even after watching the trailer, it may be that I just didn’t like what I saw, or it may be that the second one turned me off from the franchise so much that just can’t imagine myself seeing the third one. Either way you slice it, I’m skipping Transformers 3.

Sigh. I should absolutely, 100 percent not want to see this film at all, but I guess morbid curiosity is defeating sound logic at this point. I have no doubt in my mind that the dialogue in Transformers: Dark Of The Moon (which doesn’t sound grammatically correct by the way) will be worse than something a sixth grader could write. Lame jokes and schlocky sentiment punctuated with Shia LeBeouf screaming “OPTIMUS” or “BUMBLE BEE” or “NOOOOOO” will litter this film as loudly and terribly as the Top 40 soundtrack that will score the film. However, growing up a massive Transformers fan when I was a kid, I still love watching those damn robots brawl. And if Transformers 2 taught us anything — less people, more fighting. And by less people I mean, make the entire movie a big fight between the Autobots and Decepticons. Oh and by the way, why are there always new Decepticons coming out of the woodwork and pretty much the same four Autobots? Just wondering. And while the trailer isn’t anything out of Transformers ordinary, I still think the action sequences can provide a somewhat entertaining film. No, morbid curiosity has definitely taken over my logic on this write-up.
