8. The Rocky IV Robot (Rocky IV)

Yeah, that’s right. No, this isn’t a joke. The Rocky IV robot is in my top ten. Look, I’m not going to defend this thing as one of the great characters in cinematic history, but it’s so damn weird and out of place, how can I not include it on this list? We’re talking about a Rocky movie where a futuristic robot comes out of no where and delivers Paulie a birthday cake. If the Academy knew in 1976 that nine years later a Rocky movie would have a talking robot, would they still have given the first film Best Picture? The robot doesn’t exactly have a ton of scenes, but its big claim to fame is when Paulie changes the voice settings from killer cyborg to seductive female mode, so there you have it – The Rocky IV Robot.
