Brent Says: Based on trailers alone, I think Clooney deserves an Oscar nom for this quirky flick — not Up In The Air. But that said …

2. Up In The Air
Release Date: Dec. 25
Director: Jason Reitman
Starring: George Clooney, Vera Farmiga, Jason Bateman, Danny McBride
Brent Says: Clooney, coolest man on earth. Jason Reitman, the director of Juno. Interesting combo. And a timely topic — about a man who travels around the country, firing people for companies. Hello, Best Picture.

3. Sherlock Holmes
Release Date:Dec. 25
Director: Guy Ritchie
Starring: Robert Downey Jr, Jude Law, Rachel McAdams, Mark Strong
Brent Says: Slick director, slick lead actor, slick take on a slick character. And Rachel McAdams.

4. The Invention Of Lying
Release Date: Currently in theaters
Directors: Ricky Gervais, Matthew Robinson
Starring: Ricky Gervais, Jennifer Garner, Jonah Hill, Louis CK, Tina Fey, Rob Lowe
Brent Says: Gervas is a genius — and I think he’ll make a fine film director. Mostly because The Office was not a TV series — but a mini-series.

5. Zombieland
Release Date: Currently in theaters
Director: Ruben Fleischer
Starring: Woody Harrelson, Jesse Eisenberg, Emma Stone, Abigail Breslin
Brent Says: Zombie movies are like blueberry pie and ice cream. They never get old. And this one looks funny.

6. Where The Wild Things Are
Release Date: Oct. 16
Director: Spike Jonze
Starring: Max Records and the voices of: James Gandolfini, Catherine Keener, Paul Dano, Forrest Whitaker, Catherine O’Hara
Brent Says:The book is fantastical, and so is Spike Jonze. Another good combo.

7. The Fantastic Mr. Fox
Release Date: Nov. 25
Director: Wes Anderson
Voices of:George Clooney, Meryl Streep, Bill Murray, Anjelica Huston, Jason Schwartzman, Wes Anderson, Adrien Brody, Owen Wilson, Williem Dafoe
Brent Says: It looks weird — and I want to see how weird it can get.

Starring: Jamie Foxx, Gerard Butler, Colm Meany, Leslie Bibb, Bruce McGill
Brent Says:Call me crazy, but something tells me Gerard Butler could court an Oscar nom. But maybe not …

Director: Rob Marshall
Starring: Daniel Day-Lewis, Nicole Kidman, Penelope Cruz, Marion Cotillard, Judie Dench, Kate Hudson, Fergi, Sophia Loren
Brent Says: Because it could win Best Picture — like director Marshall did with Chicago. And because I like Day-Lewis.

10. The Lovely Bones

Starring: Rachael Weisz, Mark Wahlberg, Saorise Ronan, Susan Sarandon, Stanley Tucci, Michael Imperioli
Brent Says: Because I didn’t like Lord Of The Rings or King Kong — and I want to see if Jackson is actually the brilliant director they say he is.
