the newsdesk updates you on the New Jersey festival’s happenings …
The Skate & Surf Festival had remained relatively quiet over the past few weeks after making the big announcement that Fall Out Boy would be headlining the first night of the hotly-anticipated music festival.
Then, in classic S&S fashion, the organizers gave numerous hints to their fans about new additions through a series of animated visual clues using the likeness of WABC (New York) weatherman Lonnie Quinn. Quinn’s daily ‘weather report’ allowed S&S attendees and fans to guess what the ‘forecasted’ band would be through artist renderings of each performer.
With clues and guesses flying in with furious speed, the festival finally put all rumors to rest and announced the Skate & Surf Festival’s line-up will be bolstered by the addition of heavyweight acts like: Of Mice & Men, Breathe Carolina, Miss May I, Escape the Fate and T. Mills. In addition the festival announced that American Authors, Complete Confusion, My Ticket Home, Pittsburgh Slim, Skip the Foreplay, World’s Fair and longtime Skate & Surf/Bamboozle/Max Cruise mixmaster, DJ Prime will be performing on the weekend of May 18 and May 19 at The Green at iPlay America in Freehold, N.J.
And just in case you forgot, Skate & Surf will feature the likes of: Fall Out Boy, Macklemore & Ryan Lewis, A Day to Remember, Andrew W.K., Saves the Day, Bayside, RX Bandits, Timeflies, Lights, Glassjaw, Streetlight Manifesto, Hopsin, Transit and more.
