the news desk is ready for festival season …
Since Thanksgiving weekend we’ve been anxiously awaiting the return of The Skate & Surf Festival to the Garden State. On Saturday May 18th and Sunday May 19th, the music and gaming extravaganza will take over the Festival Grounds at Six Flags: Great Adventure in Jackson, N.J.
Headlining Saturday May 18th will be the recently reformed Fall Out Boy along with Timeflies, Lights, N.J. ska kings Streetlight Manifesto, Of Mice and Men and Andrew W.K. along with special guests Mayday Parade.
On Sunday May 19th, A Day to Remember will share headlining duties with the white hot duo of Macklemore & Ryan Lewis. Glassjaw, RX Bandits, Bayside and Saves the Day will be performing along with a host of others.
Skate & Surf just isn’t about the music, no it’s also about the new interactive gaming experience from GameChanger World, which has developed artist-theme mobile and tablet games. Fans will be able to battle their favorite artists throughout the day. The schedule is in the graphic below and you’ll notice there’s a number of bands on here who are not announced as mainstage acts for the festival, but are definitely huge names to be checked out (we’re looking at you We Came As Romans and Forever the Sickest Kids).
There will be an official after-party (no cover) on Saturday May 18th at The City Square Grill at iPlay America in Freehold, N.J. featuring Prime, Class and Tim Shopp.
Click here to purchase single day passes to the event. We recommend getting to the event early (we’re hearing gates open at 2pm) in order to find parking as well as keeping hydrated and bringing plenty o’ sunblock.
