Thanks to the beautiful people in the Media department over at FX, I was given access to an advanced viewing of tomorrow night’s episode of American Horror Story: Coven, entitled “The Replacements”.
I am honestly not sure how to explain my reaction without using any sort of profanity but I am going to try.
There were several moments where I found myself sitting there, mouth agape. This episode is what we have been waiting for. We are finally getting those moments of total shock that we had become accustomed to in the first two seasons of American Horror Story. Do you remember that moment when Larry (Denis O’Hare) knocked Hayden (Kate Mara) over the head with the shovel when she was mid bitch session? Or in Asylum when you finally found out who Bloody Face was? Prepare yourselves.
In an attempt to make amends for what happened to Kyle (Evan Peters), Zoe (Taissa Farmiga) returns him home to his grieving mother. Despite her good intentions, this was the wrong move to make.
New “bible thumping” neighbors move in next door. As you would expect, there is a clash between the houses.
Madame LaLaurie (Kathy Batest) is forced to be Queenie’s (Gabourey Sidibe) slave to repent for her past, which comes back to haunt her.
Fiona (Jessica Lange) and Madison (Emma Roberts) spend a little quality time together as Fiona recognizes something about herself in the young woman.
Cordelia (Sarah Paulson) gets some bad news…..and then some bad news, and we finally learn why Dennis O’Hare’s character is so fricken weird!
We are in for it this season, guys. Only three episodes in and I already have that rock in my gut. Brace yourselves for a season that could, quite possibly, fill the void left behind by Breaking Bad.
