Press Release: The Richmond, VA-based reggae-rock-funk troupe, Proverbial, is a musical group that spans the gamut of genres, sounds, and clichés. Their mélange of talents seep through every track, and carries over to their high-energy, pulsing live shows. The 5-piece act has been wielding a unique charisma, and it’s been garnering attention nationwide.
Proverbial hit the studio this year to record a new full-length album titled “Pick Up The Pieces.” The album was mixed and mastered at The Rhythm Shack in Richmond, VA with engineer Eric “Spade” Haynes [Busta Rhymes, Wiz Khalifa, Chris Brown.] “Positive energy and vibes is still our central message from the first album to this second release,” said member Thomas Whitesell, (saxophone/vocals). “The moral compass of our songs always points in the same direction of positivity and perseverance no matter what life brings your way.”
“Picking Up The Pieces” will be released and available for purchase at the group’s official CD release show on November 22nd at Richmond’s premiere music venue, The National. Performing alongside Proverbial will be Signal Fire, Funk Butter, Force of Habit, and Downbeat Switch. Doors will open at 6:30 pm; show starts at 7 pm. Proverbial has a roster of successes under their belt, from their direct supporting slots with Sublime w/Rome, Tribal Seeds, Crash Kings, and Flobots, to their performance on the Jersey Shore Music Festival alongside Aer and Papadosio. They were named “Band on the Rise” in Relix magazine and were chosen to co-headline at the Bud Light Reggae Fest in Mount Snow, VT.
