Pop-Ed: Our Favorite Nintendo Moments

Lisa Pikaard (Senior Writer):Nintendo Nostalgia. Ah what a wonderful thing. It is certainly not easy to pick a favorite Nintendo moment from the most amazing video game company but I simply don’t know where to begin. Maybe it’s sitting around playing the original Mario Party and getting a blister on my hand trying to win the damn tug of war mini game or playing the original Super Mario Brothers first five worlds in about two minutes flat because of “secret” passages. Honestly? I know many people will be mad when I say Goldeneye is not my favorite game. I used to disable the golden gun because it was all over once someone got that. I will always love racing MarioKart Koopa Troopa Beach on my N64 but the fact is one game has always and will always have my heart and that is Tetris. Yes. I’m the boring person whose favorite Nintendo Nostalgia moment is a toss-up between getting the rocket to launch or the people all dancing after scoring so many points. Tetris was the greatest game to just zone out and play and will always have that special place in my heart.  Let me play game Type B, Level 9 and go. I love that game and always will.
